Critical Software Sponsors the First Edition of the "Ideia Simplex" Award
The IT company from Coimbra promotes innovation and administrative simplification in Simplex 2009.

Critical Software sponsored the 1st edition of the "Ideia Simplex" award. This challenge aimed at stimulating the innovation capacity, in terms of administrative simplification, of the Portuguese public servants. Critical supported this event, ensuring prize funding and participating in the jury.
For evaluation, the jury took into account originality, feasibility and reduction of administrative costs in each project, among other criteria. Critical's sponsorship in this first edition of the "Ideia Simplex" award is a result of the work that has been developed by the company in areas such as administrative simplification and processes dematerialisation.
Critical's association to this event was also based on the fact that the company has implemented the project "ideas-To-income". The purpose of this program is to enhance the generation of innovative ideas across the entire organization. "The iTi ideas are subject to approval of a board that uses, as evaluation criteria, the feasibility and potential to generate returns for the organization," states Gonçalo Quadros, CEO of Critical. He added that "the validated ideas are also subject to a lottery in which the company offers prizes to the employee or group of employees responsible for them".
The "Idea Simplex" award has received 313 applications (281 at individual level and 32 at a collective level, of which 274 were from employees of Central Government and 38 from Local Government) as it was announced by Maria Manuel Leitão Marques, the State Secretary for Administrative Modernization, under the 6th Congress of Public Administration, sponsored by the National Institute of Administration.
All the ideas submitted to the competition proposed measures to simplify administrative procedures in the Health, Education, Social Security, Justice and Finance, among others sectors. This is a consequence that results from the experience and relationship between users and public workers.
