Critical Software – a company specialized in the delivery of reliable solutions, services and technologies for critical information systems – was nominated by the organization of the SmartOcean 2012 event, in the innovative company category, for the development of the maritime operations support and information system Oversee.
The organization of the third edition of SmartOcean Workshop and Innovation Exchange 2012, which will be held on 2 and 3 July in Galway (Ireland), decided to nominate Critical Software for the innovative features of its Oversee solution, a support and information system for maritime operations such as search and rescue, law enforcement and environmental monitoring and protection.
The 2012 edition of SmartOcean is held under the motto "Getting more from our Marine Resources through Technology", and it will be attended by industry professionals, innovation agencies from many countries and several research institutes. The SmartOcean Innovation Exchange 2012 award distinguishes companies for their innovation, based on technology development and deployment criteria applied to the sea industry, producing economical benefits and allowing a truly global reach.
Oversee addresses a set of requirements from private and public organizations with responsibilities in the fields of security, defence and marine environment protection, bringing effectiveness and efficiency to them. This solution developed by Critical Software, in a partnership with the Portuguese Navy, stands out because it offers an integrated vision of the maritime scene, allowing correlations and the merger of information from several sources, to extract knowledge and identify relevant behaviour patters. It also delivers the ability to anticipate incidents, along with tools to support command and control as well as decision making.
