The CMMI Institute, based in Pittsburgh, USA is a 100% controlled subsidiary of Carnegie Innovations, Carnegie Mellon University’s technology commercialization enterprise. The Institute is dedicated to elevating organizational performance through best-in-class solutions to real-world challenges.
Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) - focused in systems and software engineering, integrated product and process development, and supplier sourcing allows for an organisation to select process improvement strategies. The model also provides pre-defined process areas for each maturity level.
CMMI® provides organisations with guidance on measuring and continuously improving their processes in a sustainable way.
The CMMI® approach is more and more recognised as the performance measure for software development and engineering companies across the world, especially in the US and Asian markets. Critical Software was, in 2006, the first Portuguese company to achieve CMMI maturity level 3. In 2009 maturity level 5 was achieved, again for the first time in Portugal, and reconfirmed in 2012.
