Good Luck to Our 2017 Interns
September 11, 2017
This year marks the third round of summer internships CRITICAL Software has organised with our sister company, iTGROW, and we were pleased to extend the programme to include all three of our offices in Portugal.
Our internship programme receives many applications and we were delighted to be able to accept more people than ever this year: from over 150 candidates, fifteen interns were selected. Our teams in Coimbra, Porto and Lisbon welcomed five interns each, offering them the chance to experience what life is like working at CRITICAL Software.
Working as part of our engineering teams, our interns get to know the daily routine of a CRITICAL engineer. Plus, they also attend workshops and engage with several areas of expertise across the business, like quality, project management, engineering and testing.
Coming from various fields of study – ranging from computer science to biomedical engineering – our summer recruits bring with them a variety of skills. In turn, this fresh energy and new thinking has a positive effect on mentors and the teams that they are part of.
Human Resources Assistant at iTGROW, Bárbara Rodrigues, helped to co-ordinate this year’s internship programme and commented: “We look to provide every intern with an amazing experience; our interns are smart, capable and hungry to learn so we make sure that the level of tutoring we offer is exceptional. We’re always sad to see them go, but wish our interns the best of luck for the future!”
Here we see our interns after their graduation ceremony with programme co-ordinator, Bárbara Rodrigues, in the centre.
Each year, we close our summer internships with a graduation ceremony. This year, the event took place at our headquarters in Coimbra and began with a celebratory lunch, followed by presentations by the students about their work during their time at CRITICAL. Certificates marking their achievement were awarded and our interns were congratulated by the CRITICAL team, including some of the senior engineers involved in the programme.
