Smart Meter Success! Critical Software Wins Prestigious Award for Second Time
The DCC's Partnership Award recognizes excellent performance when working with the company on its smart meter implementation programme. Find out how Critical Software secured the accolade.

Critical Software has received the Partnership Award from the Data Communications Company (DCC) for the second year running.
The Partnership Award assesses the DCC’s suppliers and recognizes the achievements of companies judged to have demonstrated exemplary performance while working with the DCC and its other service providers on the UK’s smart meter implementation programme.
Having initially been shortlisted from a diverse range of suppliers, Critical was chosen as the winner for the second consecutive year after consistently demonstrating DCC’s core values: Partnership, Excellence, Ingenuity, and Personal Impact.
Dan Lambert, Chief Operating Officer at the DCC, said:
“It’s a remarkable achievement for Critical to win this award two years in a row. We wanted to recognize its superb performance, backed by a ‘can-do’, collaborative relationship that the company has built across all DCC teams and business areas. Congratulations, and thank you for your partnership with us.”
Matt Brake, Director of Smart Technology Services at Critical Software, commented:
“To receive the Partnership Award from the DCC for the second consecutive year is a truly outstanding achievement and something we’re particularly proud of. This award recognizes the exceptional performance and dedication of our talented teams—their technical accomplishments as well as their proactive attitude—in developing a long-standing and close partnership with the DCC across all business areas.”
The DCC is responsible for building and maintaining the secure national infrastructure required for the rollout of smart meters across the UK, one of the largest infrastructure projects of its kind. As part of its work with the DCC, more than 50 million smart meters will rely on the software development and testing expertise of Critical.
