The Critical Christmas Box: Giving Back This Festive Season

December 14, 2020

This year more than ever, it’s important to give back.

This year more than ever, it’s important to give back.

2020 has been challenging for many of us, but most of all for already vulnerable communities and the charities and organisations that work with them. That’s why we were keen to ask not just what Christmas could do for us this year, but what we could do for Christmas. Naturally, no response felt more fitting than to give.

As part of the Critical Christmas Box initiative, our people will receive a box containing several gifts, from seeds to jam. The products were acquired from local charities to support the communities around us. Once received, our employees can then reuse the box (or not, if the items don't fit the box) to send a gift of their own to one of the charities chosen by Critical, each aiming to make the world a better place in the countries we work in.

This year, our charities include the Murray Parish Trust, working in the South of England to support severely ill children and their families; AKM - Munich Children’s Hospice Foundation, which aims to relieve the pressures on families of a loved one having a terminal illness; CAIS Recicla, who provide invaluable craft skills to disadvantaged people using recyclable materials; and Doctors of the World, who ensure those living in the most challenging regions of our planet can access good healthcare; and more.

Viviana Estêvão, People Senior at Critical Software, said of the initiative: “We couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate Christmas and bringing everyone together, even at a distance, than giving back and making an impact in our communities.”
